What gets collected
Nothing as you read it. This site has no account system, no login, no newsletter and no advertising trackers.
If you use the contact form, it collects exactly four things: your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, and what you wrote. Nothing is stored on this website. The form emails those details straight to me and keeps no copy, no database and no log of the message. Your name and email address are required because a reply is impossible without them; the phone number is optional and the form works without it.
The web server records the time and network address of the submission for one hour, to stop the same source flooding the form. It is a count, not a copy, it is not linked to what you wrote, and it is discarded after that.
If you email or ring instead, I hold whatever you chose to tell me. That is the whole list, and you decided all of it.

Cookies and counting visits
This site sets no cookies at all, and there is no third-party analytics on it, so there is no consent banner to click through and nothing here is counting you or following you anywhere else.
Why it is collected and what it is used for
What you send is used to reply to you, and to quote and carry out work if you decide to go ahead. Nothing else. Your details are not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not shared with anyone for marketing.
Where it goes
Email you send me lands in an inbox hosted by Google, which stores it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. That is true of almost any email address you write to. If you would rather not have your details handled that way, ring instead and say so.
How long it is kept
Emails that do not turn into work are deleted within twelve months. If we do work together, records are kept for seven years, which is what Australian tax and business record-keeping requires.
Getting a copy, fixing it, or having it deleted
Email atkinsondesign1@gmail.com and ask. You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for anything wrong to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Requests are answered within 30 days, and there is no charge.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the inbox is protected by two-factor authentication. No system is perfect, and ordinary email is not encrypted end to end, so it is worth not sending anything genuinely sensitive by email, to me or to anyone.
If you are not happy about it
Raise it directly first, by email or phone, and it will be dealt with. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version goes up here with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting people who have already enquired will be notified by email.
